Wendell | Organic Screened Compost

With Rust Belt Riders, we re-purpose food waste, otherwise destined for landfill, into nutrient-rich organic compost, Wendell.

Alive with microbial activity eating and discarding nutrient-rich waste, like apple cores and coffee grounds, Wendell is packed with vital nutrients.

Wendell, meets National Organic Program standards. By turning our piles five times when they reach 131°F, we ensure all weed seeds and pathogens are eradicated, providing assurance for a healthy growing environment.

It is important to note that compost is not soil. Soil is sand, silt, clay and organic matter (which may contain finished compost). This is why we do not recommend using Wendell as a growing medium, as its pH may not be conductive to plants comfort and happiness without added amendments.

This is why we've curated different soil blends for different purposes, with our organic compost, Wendell, as the base.

Grow | Organic Raised Bed and General-Purpose Soil Mix

This blended general-purpose soil mix is our go-to for most home-growing projects. Do you have healthy transplants? Put them in Grow. Have an existing garden that needs a shot in the arm? Add Grow. This balanced, user-friendly soil is ideal for a wide range of applications because of its water management properties. Plants in Grow are difficult to over or underwater and the trace minerals provide ample nutrients to support root structure and development. 

Use:

For outdoor raised-beds or garden plots growing food, flowers, and trees. Not great for pots 5 gallons or less.

Bloom | Organic Heavy Feed Soil Mix

This KIND Certified nutrient-packed super soil is ideal for the cultivation of the most demanding plants. Bloom has the ability to take plants from vegetation to flowering with little-to-no need for supplemental nutrient feeding. 

Gone are the days of wrestling with multiple products, kitchen sink mixes, and onerous foliar feeding. Bloom is an all-in-one super soil that will keep things lush, clean, and chemical-free.

Bloom is our living soil blend for the most demanding plants, in veg. and flower.  Indoors or outdoors.

House | NOP-Compliant Indoor Houseplant Mix

House is the product of hearing too many house plant parents struggling to keep their indoor loved ones happy and healthy. Too often store-bought mixes need further amending, the addition of perlite or trace minerals not to mention the constant monitoring for fungus gnats and other pests. We have formulated House to be a well-draining, ready-to-use-right-out-the-bag product that anticipates common problems associated with raising your favorite house plants. We inoculate each batch with steinernema feltiae nematodes which parasitize fungus gnats before they can emerge. House is a great insurance policy for any of your hearty indoor house plants. 

Use:

Indoor houseplant potting soil designed to provide excellent drainage for easy houseplant care.
